happy 16th birthday!!!!
have a super awesome birthday!
well, technically it’s morning 3, but here’s my review of the 2nd night:
i can’t stand the host girl. samantha harris. i think. she’s just so annoying!!!
lacey & lance: good. i like them.
misty & maks: better than the 1st night. i didn’t like all of her solos, and her arms bug me.
cheryl & maurice: better.
brooke & derek: i loved it!!!!! great!
cloris & corky: it honestly was entertaining. and it didn’t seem like she was going AS slow as yesterday.
julianne & cody: love them. if the finale was ahora, i think the it should be hough vs hough.
kim & mark: i don’t think mark is creating a ballroom champion like the past 2 seasons this year.
the rest i fast forwarded over because i don’t have time to watch them all.
my apologies for not having posted anything the whole month of september until now.
so, dancing with the stars started back up last night. and i can’t freakin’ stand it. along with the office, it use to be my favorite show, but it just got boringly annoying, and i actually fell asleep during the end of it.
julianne & cody: great. i think he has real potential of becoming one of julianne’s amazing partners like helio and apollo. his footwork was pretty good, and he had sharp clean motions. plus, his partner is julianne. and she is my all-time favorite dancer to ever be on dancing with the stars. they look really cute together. and i like the fact that they’re both really young. he will go pretty far. i think he’ll improve a lot every performance, and for doing great dances and being Hannah Montana’s boyfriend, the votes will be streaming in.
karina & rocco: ah. i can’t stand him. his footwork made me scream. i feel sorry for karina because she’s an amazing dancer and teacher, but he’s just AHHHH.
toni & alec: good.
cheryl & maurice: don’t remember anything about them.
brooke & derek: good. she can dance, which is nice. but they didn’t really move around too much and that kinda annoyed me.
inna & ted: i think it would be hard for a professional dancer to appear on the show for the first time after 7 seasons. she’s a good dancer, but i don’t really like her. the ted guy reminds me of my dentist. i do not like my dentist.
lacey & lance: i think it’s cool that they’re names are really close in spelling. i just realized that i was typing it out. entertaining dance.
cloris & corky: ah, i can’t stand this lady. she just walks around smiling while so-called “dancing”. the judges give her props for being an 82 year old lady “dancing” and give her a somewhat decent score compared to the rest of the people. just maddening. and the whole judges thing was just annoying. and the dancing with the starts producers peeps shouldn’t have to bleep contestants out.
edyta & jeffery: edyta is amazing, but jeffery can’t dance. as amazing as edyta is, jeffery is terrifying to watch dance. i feel sorry for edyta and karina who are outstanding dancers but definitely have crappy partners.
kim & mark: i somewhat liked the dance. but i can’t stand her. mark’s amazing and i wanted him to have a partner that i like because he’s had sabrina and kristi, my favorite celebrity dancers EVER on dwts. but the streak ends this season.
susan & tony: bad.
(fell asleep at this point. missed the last 2 performances, but watched them back on youtube just a little while ago.)
kym & warren: pretty good and entertaining.
misty & maks: i see her improving a lot. maks pushes his dancers really hard, and she’ll be awesome soon.
tonight, it’s on from 9-11. and after last night, it’s totally not worth staying up to watch. i’m taping it on my computer though. so, in the morning, i’ll watch some of it and post my comments. tonight one couple is eliminated. thank goodness.
my “bottom 3″:
cloris & corky, edyta & jeffery, karina & rocco
i’m exhausted right now. there’s no way i’d even be able to stay up to watch the whole thing if i even was interested. and i slept for 2 and a half hours when i got home! i want the hospital people to call me with the results and say that there is something wrong with me so that i can get better. my doctor said most likely i’m just a cold person who’s not getting enough sleep. but i definitely think i am!
off to bed now at 8:09. goodnight.
last night, megan and my dad went to a fever game, olivia and my mom went shopping, and i went skating. then, we watched the fireworks from the plaza.
i went shopping a little bit before skating started. at aeropostale, i tried on this sweatshirt. i’d seen it before and loved it, but it was $40. but last night it was on sale for $15. so, i tried it on. it was just really weird on. like the “head hole” was really small. (it rubbed across my face then.) it was too short and too wide. and the sleeves were huge. so, i didn’t get it. but i go out of the fitting room, and my mom’s like “omg, ellie! what’s wrong with you?” my cheeks and my nose area was bright red and itchy. so after not scratching it for forever (which is extremely painful), i iced it which did help the swelling and redness go down. but it’s not like i could ice it forever. then, i went skating, which i guess was like icing it forever. but it helped a lot. but as soon as i got outside, i was scratching it really bad. i got a shower and just went to bed, didn’t put anything on it. and this morning, it’s better, but still obviously there. my mom put stuff on it a half an hour ago ish, it helped some of the redness disappear, but right now, i’m dying to scratch it and i know that once i do my face will be really red again.
at least i won’t have to go to school like this. 3 day weekend!
yesterday, i got to skate a freestyle session in the morning and a public session at night.
there were actually people there at public skating!
the last few times i went i had the ice completley to myself, but this time i didn’t.
i had this one really nasty fall do a catchfoot spiral, but after that i did some really AMAZING spirals.
less than 2 weeks ’til my competition!
I skated pretty well yesterday.
I had the ice to myself for half the session, and the other half of the time, was just me and a little 5 year old doing her Basic 2 program. heehee. It was so much fun though.
My moves in the field were good, and I REALLY want to test them at the next test session! Patty added more stuff to my footwork. My mom taped my whole session. I hadn’t really watched my footwork on tape a lot yet. I have 2 spread eagles in my footwork, and watching them back, OMG, it scared me so much. Like I know I don’t fall into the splits on them or something, but just watching them back still really freaked me out.
My feet were just so far apart! Patty helped me with my back camel, and I did 2 of them with 4 and a half rotations (new personal best) in a good position! Now, I’ve just got to work on doing them well in the program. I need to work on my ina bauer though. I did it twice (when I did my program) and the first one I almost fell out of. My feet were just so far apart. And I didn’t lean back at all. The 2nd one the little 5 year old was standing right in my way. So, I didn’t really do it. I just need to practice it more. I’ve never really worked on it because it’s just come naturally, but I want it to an awesome stand-out thing in my program. So, it’s got to be better. The 2 run-throughs I did today were really really awesome. My competition is 2 weeks from this weekend. I AM SO EXCITED! I feel pretty prepared and ready now.
Oh! I forgot to say this. I STARTED WORKING ON DOUBLE LOOPS YESTERDAY! My very first double jump!! So, I’m on my left foot, jump into the air, rotate twice, land on my left foot. I just did a couple of attempts yesterday, but I’m really excited to start working on them!
so, i realize this is like… wednesday, but i haven’t posted about skating on monday and it’s definitely worth mentioning.
it was the best skating experience i have EVER had (besides a competition!)
i was the first session after the zamboni. that means the ice was completely PERFECT. it was just me and one other skater in a lesson. and she’s an adult doing some half jumps. i did 4 run-throughs back to back and none of them were too bad. plus, i got my change of edge spiral! i had been working on that on saturday constantly and i just couldn’t get it. it was soooo frustrating. but i leaned over more and TA-DA! soooo much better. patty’s now calling it my “michelle kwan spiral” because michelle kwan’s signature move is her change of edge spiral, but mine also has a change of position WHILE i change the edge so yippie to me. and i got my back sit held down long enough. it’s in my change foot sit spin. (i start spinning on my right foot in the sit spin position and then switch to spinning on my left foot in sit spin position). spinning on the left foot in the correct position is what i find difficult. but on monday, almost all of them were REALLY good! my mom’s always said that my footwork looked really blah and easy. (which it’s definitely not! but that’s the way it appeared to her) but the other day, she could tell a difference! she taped me and i agree that my footwork did look a billion times better! i didn’t work on my jumps too much besides when i did a run-through of my program. they were good. so, i didn’t have to work on them anymore. and yes, i still hate jumping. micaela came halfway through the session, and she skated right up to me and was like “ellie! i need help with a math problem, and my mom doesn’t know how to do it!” it was just funny, and i answered her question. lol. and today’s riley’s birthday, but i knew i wasn’t going to see her after monday before today so i went ahead and gave her her present there. she was surprised, which was totally my goal. heehee. i made her this sweet video of her at competitions. our very first competition we competed against each other. so, i’ve got like tons of videos of her on my computer. she called me later monday night after she watched it. she loved it and was really surprised on how i made it. heehee. plus, when i got off the ice, there were like 50 billion skaters getting on and some of them were the ones doing triples. i chose the best session.
there will be a new american idol judge in the house.
Kara DioGuardi.
never heard of her before, but she’s supposedly a good songwriter and well-known in the music industry.
i hope she’s not like paula. i think 4 judges will seem weird. that’s just a lot of judging time.
our telenovela is now finally up on youtube!
you need to go check it out because it’s severely AMAZING.
yesterday, i got to go skating.
for the first 5 minutes or so, i got to play my cd with amazing music on it since nobody was doing their programs yet. so, i got to warm up listening to carrie! heehee. my first run-through was really really good. i put all the choreography and all the elements in it. some people got in my way a couple times, but besides that it was really really really good! i did it later right as the session was ending, and only one skater got in my once. and it was really awesome. last week, my programs were absolutely awful, but today’s practice was amazing. i’m really excited for my competition!
afterwards, my mom kept going on about how pretty my program was and that she was proud of me for choreographing it by myself. and that makes me feel good because it always seems likes she’s the hardest person to please.
